Our Mission
Broken for Better is a non-profit ministry organization on a mission to equip
and empower couples to build authentic marriages and strengthen families
for everyday life. We believe strong marriages create strong families, and
strong families create lasting legacies.
What We Do
Through your partnership, Broken for Better provides personal marriage coaching, hosts impactful events, and leads practical workshops designed to meet couples right where they are. Every resource we provide is grounded in biblical truth and crafted to give couples practical tools they can apply immediately in their relationships.

Logan Schaer , Kurt and Denette Schaer’s youngest son was a bright light in his community. His impact was immensely felt and his smile and love of others will continue to be deeply missed until we see him again. Logan had just graduated high school and was getting ready to start ministry school where he was ready to commit his entire life to the service of others as a minister. He was following the same calling as his parents who have also committed their lives to serving their community and the world through vocational ministry.
He touched the lives of so many at his church, in school, and all around his community. His contagious joy lit up any room he walked in to. Logan was only 17 years old, yet he had a unique gift to make everyone he was around – young and
old – feel genuinely seen, known, & loved.
Like Logan, we believe EVERYONE has the capacity to change the world they
live in by living a life of impact that has eternal purpose – to Make It Count. As
an extension of Broken for Better; the non-profit organization founded by Kurt & Denette Schaer (Logan’s parents), the Make it Count movement was born.
The Make it Count Scholarship fund helps those facing financial burdens take a
step in the right direction, allowing them to PROPEL into their future! If you are in
need of resources for furthering your education, would like help attending a student summer camp or need financial help in order to step into your calling, please fill
out the application below. We will prayerfully consider helping as resources are
made available. We desire that you would live a life filled with eternal purpose.
